Welcome and Opening Plenary

A Conversation with Chad Holliday

February 17th from 9:00-10:00 in Geneen Auditorium

About Chad:

Charles O. Holliday, Jr. is former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of DuPont. Under Holliday’s leadership since the late 1990's, DuPont established a goal of achieving sustainable growth – increasing shareholder and societal value while simultaneously decreasing DuPont's environmental footprint. As a result, DuPont has shifted from being a chemical company to being a science-based products and services company.

Mr. Holliday has previously served as Chairman of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development as well as the Business Roundtable's Task Force for Environment, Technology and Economy. In addition, Holliday is chairman of the Council on Competitiveness and is a founding member of the International Business Council. In 2002, he co-authored a book titled Walking the Talk which details the business case for sustainable development and corporate responsibility. In the book, Holliday demonstrates that an integration of sustainability goals into corporate strategy will provide lasting shareholder value and immediate bottom-line returns and also that a global partnership -- between governments, business, and society -- is essential if globalization is to maximize opportunities for all.
