About Dina:

Dina Powell is global head of Corporate Engagement at Goldman Sachs, joining the firm in 2007 as a managing director. She serves as principal liaison to NGOs, philanthropic and other non-profit service organizations. Ms. Powell manages the “10,000 Women” program which provides 10,000 underserved women, predominantly in developing and emerging markets, with business and management education. Launched in 2008, the program has committed $100 million over the next five years and has partnered with universities in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and United States to seek, create and develop programs to impact the quality and capacity of business education for women in developing regions around the world. Ms. Powell also leads the firm’s “10,000 Small Businesses” initiative which funds community development financial institutions as well as university scholarships for small-business owners.

 

Previously, Ms. Powell served as the Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs and Deputy Undersecretary for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs. Prior to being confirmed as Assistant Secretary, Ms. Powell served as Assistant to the President, a senior staff position in the White House. She is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin.
