"Helping Companies See Green: Deloitte’s Approach to Sustainability"featuring Chris Park, Principal, Deloitte Consulting, LLP
February 18th from 9:50-10:30 in Geneen Auditorium
About Chris:
Chris joined Deloitte Consulting in 1994 and was admitted to the partnership in 2000. He is currently leading the Deloitte U.S. Firms' efforts to define a set of consultative services to clients based on improving corporate responsibility and sustainability. He is a registered architect by training, and in his consulting career with Deloitte Consulting as served clients in the life sciences, health care provider, manufacturing, higher education, financial services, and retail industries. Chris is currently in the process of defining and expanding the Deloitte U.S. Firms' cross-functional service offerings around corporate responsibility and sustainability, linking together traditional environmental, social responsibility and sustainability consulting to help clients tackle issues related to climate change, carbon management, energy strategy, and other matters. Recognizing the increasing importance of improved social and environmental performance, Chris is defining elements of the "Wholly Sustainable Enterprise (WSE)—an organization that generates growth, profitability and value by transforming itself to utilize sustainable practice across the five critical dimensions of workplace, workforce, products and services, functions and processes, and governance. These services are intended to provide clients a structured approach and framework to drive business case and value initiatives that support sustainability, environmental and CSR activities. The services blend strategic planning (transformation roadmap development and business case), operational/technical/tactical analysis (e.g., value-driven sustainable initiatives, GHG Protocol and other measurement methods/techniques), reporting/compliance/assurance services, and specialized tax and financial advisory services. He is working on building relationships with key participants in the sustainability and CSR movements, including the University of Michigan Erb Institute for Global Sustainable Enterprise and the University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Center for Sustainable Enterprise. Chris presented at last January’s North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) on the topic of “Earning Green by Going Green: Why Manufacturers Ignore Sustainability at Their Financial Peril.” |
