Why did you attend business school? I went to business school to learn how to help organizations become more effective at fulfilling their missions. For years, I had watched the non-profit that I worked for flounder — spending hard-won donations inefficiently and making poor organizational restructuring decisions.
Why did you decide to choose this career path? At Fuqua, I earned the academic background that I desired, but I knew that wasn't enough. In order to truly learn how to affect change at an organization I wanted to be a part of the process. I became a human capital consultant with Deloitte to put my learning into practice.
What is your role at Deloitte? At Deloitte, I have the opportunity to be a part of both the strategic planning and implementation processes. Deloitte is committed to building solutions that work from start to finish. On my project, I have had the opportunity to both build and implement change solutions that will affect thousands of people throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania — and I have only been with the firm for eleven months.
Any additional information? If you have any questions about Deloitte or non-profit or government consulting in general, please feel free to reach out to me at stnelson@deloitte.com.
